Hotels, travel agents and tour operators
Booking transport on behalf of somebody else has a particular problem: you are accountable for a journey you are not travelling on. What you need is a confirmation you can pass to a guest without hedging, one contact when something changes, and a supplier whose coverage you can rely on — Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire in full, from bases in Reading, Didcot, Newbury.
Who this is for
- Hotels and serviced apartments arranging transport for arriving and departing guests, on the desk's account rather than the guest's card.
- Travel agents and PAs booking for clients and executives, needing a written confirmation with the details spelled out.
- Tour operators needing the road transport component of an itinerary they are assembling.
- Venues and conference organisers moving delegates — see event transport.
The transport component, and only that
We supply pre-booked road transport. We do not assemble or sell travel packages, and we will not bundle a journey with accommodation, admissions, vehicle hire or guiding. If you are combining our transport with other travel services in what you sell, the package travel rules may apply to you — worth taking your own advice on, because how a combination is sold decides the answer rather than what it is called.
Coverage you can subcontract against
National operators and agencies need to know a supplier can actually cover the ground before they hand over work. Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire are covered in full — not a radius drawn around one depot, and not a list of towns that leaves gaps between them. Vehicles work from Reading, Didcot, Newbury, which is what makes county-wide cover a fulfilment fact rather than a claim on a page.
Work outside the three counties is quoted as planned journeys. We will say yes or no quickly, which is more use to you than a maybe.
What a partner booking includes
A written confirmation naming the journey, the vehicle class, the price and the reference you gave us, in a form you can forward to a guest. Changes and cancellations go through one contact. Where a guest needs to reach the driver on the day, that is arranged as part of the booking rather than improvised.
Airport collections
Meet and greet is standard on every airport collection. The driver is at the meeting point from the actual landing time — we track the flight, so a delay moves the collection rather than generating a query. Sixty minutes from landing is included, with an hour of airport parking, and there is no separate parking line to reconcile.
For anyone booking on behalf of a guest, that matters more than the price: the passenger walks out to someone holding their name, and you do not get a call asking where the car is.
What we need from you
The passenger name and a contact number for the day, the full collection address, the destination, and the flight, sailing or event timing where one applies. For airport and port work the terminal matters more than the postcode — a guest standing at the wrong terminal is the commonest failure in trade bookings, and it is almost always a detail missing at the point of booking.
Accounts
Trade partners are set up the same way as corporate clients: arrangements agreed in writing, references captured on each booking, one contact. See corporate accounts for what to ask us.
Trade partner questions
Who is the contract with when we book for a guest?
Your organisation books with Golden Transfers Ltd, which arranges the journey as the disclosed agent of the transport provider identified on the booking. Your guest does not contract with us and is not liable for the fare — that stays with you unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Can we mark up the fare to our guest?
That is your commercial decision and your disclosure to make. We quote you a price for the transport; what you charge your guest, and how you describe it, is between you and them — but be aware that combining transport with other travel services in what you sell can bring package travel rules into play for you.
Do you sell tours or packages?
No. We supply the transport component. We do not assemble or sell travel packages, and we do not bundle transport with accommodation, admissions or guiding — that is deliberate, because doing so carries financial-protection duties we have not taken on.
How do we settle?
Payment is per booking by default. Consolidated invoicing or deferred payment can be agreed separately, with a limit, an invoice cycle and a due date, and takes effect once that agreement is signed.
